Heater for Sundance Spas and Jacuzzi - 6500-401

This 2.7 kW low-flow heater is installed on several models of hot tub manufactured by Jacuzzi and Sundance Spas. The ends of the heater push-fit inside 3/4-inch pipe.

Some older versions of this heater have a built-in pressure switch, and a little control cable that connects to the motherboard of the hot tub control system, to tell the system that there is water flowing through the heater. If you are replacing a heater of this type, you should plug in a jumper, in place of the pressure switch cable, on the motherboard.

We also recommend that you install a flow switch at the exit of this heater, even if the old heater that you are replacing uses a pressure switch to detect the water flow.

You can, however, install a pressure switch if you really insist. You just need to remove a little plug on the heater beforehand, using allen key. Don't forget to use Teflon tape when installing the pressure switch!

This heater is similar to the more powerful HydroQuip 5.5 kW model, which has a Titanium element.

This heater is a good substitute for older Therm Products models with the part numbers C3229, C3236-1A, C3236-2A and SEH-4100-NHCW, but it is less powerful than these models.
