How to configure a Balboa control system: general rules
All Balboa control systems have their own features, but there are some general installation rules, to avoid mistakes when connecting the cables and equipment.
Connections on your new control system will not necessarily be identical to the old ones, so rely only on the documentation for the new model, not on the connections on your old system.
For example, you might want to install a three-phase power supply, but all our control systems are pre-configured for a single-phase power connection. It is almost always possible to wire up the system for three-phase electricity, but you need to modify the motherboard before connecting it. Read the documentation carefully, as you may fry the motherboard if the connections are incorrect. And make sure you are only following the installation guide for the new model.
This documentation is available on the Tubs Parts website on the product pages of each Balboa system. We also send you a paper version of installation guide with the control system you ordered.
All connections, switch modifications and jumper movements must be made with the system switched off at the main circuit breaker.
